Re-scheduled Asian Games to host Street and Park Championships in Hangzhou, China, this September!

Written by Niall Neeson

The other huge continental skateboarding contest having into view this Autumn beside the Pan-American Games are, of course, the postponed 2022 Asian Games which are now taking place between September and October 2023.

The 19th edition of this enormous draw- both in terms of participation and media interest- sees both Men and Women’s Park and Street contests go off every year since skateboarding’s debut in 2018.

Qiantang Roller Sports Centre in Hangzhou will host both disciplines between the 24th and 27th of September and will prove a huge regional draw for skateboarders from every country on the continent, having made stars of people like Philippines’ Margie Didal already!

Although, like the Pan-American Games, the Asian Games do not contribute to OWSR ranking points, we are happy to support events of this scale which undoubtedly help skateboarders garner some of that big-event experience which can prove invaluable as the stages get greater and greater for the best among them.

Check their event website for event updates- full report incoming as soon as it wraps!
