Welcome to a new section in our Skateboard Judging Education output called "Noted By The Head Judge', in which Head Judges from recent events talk us through some of the finer points and emerging themes of competitive skateboarding on the World Skateboarding Tour- and how it was quantified and graded in the heat of the action.
These overviews accompany the in-depth Judging Recaps and Performance Ledger posts which we always release post-event for Judging Education purposes.
To kick things off, we have all-round legend and Park Head Judge Renton Millar taking us through his observations with regards to June's World Skateboarding Tour World Cup Rome Park 2025 contest from a matter of weeks ago.
As well as discussing the impact which the new Golden Run had on the finals, Renton also breaks down how Qualifiers and Quarterfinals impacted on the final outcomes- given that new future stars are joining the Tour every stop, and former challengers now have to climb back up those all-important World Skateboarding Rankings again.
As ever, all these Skateboard Judging insights from of our events form the basis of a judging reference library which you can access at any time, including all previous Judging Recaps from the World Skateboarding Tour- be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already!
