World Skate (WSK), is proud to announce the official launch of the Certified Education Provider (CEP) accreditation. This milestone initiative represents a major advancement in the global standardization and professionalization of Olympic skateboard coaching.
The CEP accreditation is a key development in the implementation of WSK’s Coach Education Accreditation System (CEAS)—a four-level international framework released in 2024 under the Coach Development Strategy (CDS). The CEAS sets clear standards for what coaches should learn through formal education programs, helping to make skateboarding more accessible and ensuring the safeguarding of coaching practices worldwide.
Over the past six months, WSK has piloted and refined an alignment process to ensure that coach education programs meet the rigorous standards established by the CEAS. With the launch of the CEP accreditation, National Federations (NFs) with an established history of skateboard coach education—recognized by their National Olympic Committee (NOC) or a credible government body—are now eligible to apply for official recognition as Certified Education Providers.
Successful CEPs will gain the right to deliver Level 1 and/or Level 2 CEAS programs locally, with full WSK endorsement. These programs will allow participating and retrospectively successful coaches to be officially certified and included in a publicly accessible international coaching database, further reinforcing the credibility and global recognition of their qualifications.
“By launching the CEP accreditation, we’re empowering nations to take a leading role in developing high-quality coaching pathways while ensuring alignment to international Olympic standards,” said James Karageorgiou, Head of Development at World Skate. “This is a pivotal step toward a more inclusive and professionally supported coaching community in skateboarding.”
