Let's Talk About Judging: Episode 1!

Written by Niall Neeson

LET'S TALK ABOUT JUDGING is a new educational series created by World Skate’s International Skateboard Judging Commission (ISJC) to help with development and education on Skateboard Judging around the world.

Each episode is narrated by one of our continental members and brings commonly-asked questions on Skateboard Judging and related topics or matters to the fore.

The answers to these questions are provided by the World Skate head judges, ISJC members, or other field experts.
All episodes in this series will be accompanied with subtitles in Spanish, French, and Portuguese languages in order to help with delivering the knowledge and content in all continental areas.  psrk1

The intention is that this project will help to enlighten the athletes, coaches, National Federation staff, general public, and aspiring or new skateboard judges to better understand the nuances and logic behind the applied judging methods and processes in the modern-day competitive environment of the Olympic era.

We kick off the series with a deep-dive into Park, narrated by Liu Wenbo (CHN) and Renton Millar (AUS), providing answers and insights into the most frequently-submitted questions on the Judging Park discipline, application of judging criteria and much more besides.

As with all our Judging Education output, this series forms part of a knowledge bank for judges, coaches and athletes which can be found in the playlists of our Skateboard Judging Education YouTube Channel here
