Hosted in the coastal city of Mohammedia by the UK’s Amber Edmondson and France’s Basile Danet, the gathering welcomed 13 aspirant skateboarding coaches for an intensive symposium covering both the theory behind and practical dimensions of skateboard coaching.

The CEAS’ 4- tier certification scheme is part of the broader WSK Development Strategy which aims to champion the growth and development of skateboarding through the inclusive availability of a vast array of education and support opportunities across the three key areas of: Community, Pathways and Governance.

With the success of the Tokyo and Paris Olympic Games sparking a global interest in skateboarding, nations with limited historical infrastructure to support development of the activity can clearly see the need for organised, recognised and constructive coaching processes to help talent flourish and grow.

Based upon continuous assessment throughout the symposium, ten skateboarders were identified as having acquired a level of understanding and adaptability to merit the distinction of being awarded Level 1 Coaching accreditations and thus beginning their WSK-recognised coach’s journey.
