August saw skateboarding’s debut at the Central American & Caribbean Games 2026.

The Dominican Republic hosted skateboarders from Colombia, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Costa Rica as well as the Dominican Republic itself for the region’s newest international Street contest.

Although not a World Skateboarding Tour event, the contest was run along our established format guidelines and judging criteria with World Skate staff filling those organisational roles.

World Skate Continental Street Head Judge Danny Fuenzalida (CHI/USA) walks us through both event rounds of this competition and gives us his insights on both the Run and Single Trick performances of each participating athlete.

These Event Judging Recaps are an important educational tool for all aspiring judges, as well as a valuable analysis of the skateboard performances and their results for athletes, coaches, and the support staff of National Governing Bodies and National Federations.
